The England international has been used sparingly since Jose Mourinho’s arrival last summer, with Europa League and cup matches seemingly his only hope of getting a game.
But perhaps Mourinho just heard about Young’s eating manners and felt a bit weird about playing him.
In an interview with Fuel, Young explains: “I don’t know if I can say this but – oh well. If I’ve gone to get a takeaway and I get chips.
“I like to match up the chips in length. That is actually quite weird.
“You go through the chips and I pick them out in twos, that’s a weird thing as well.
“But if they’re not the same length then I go hunting for the same length chips.”
We have absolutely no idea if this is a common thing amongst people in the UK, or if Young is in a population of one when it comes to his bizarre preferences.
To be fair, Young has eaten bird shit before, so anything is a step up from that.
What do you make of Young’s strange preferences?
