Nobody Can Believe How Much Chelsea Are Getting For Patrick Bamford

Patrick Bamford is on the verge of leaving Chelsea in a permanent deal but nobody can quite believe how much the Stamford Bridge club are about to receive by way of a transfer fee.

After spending various different loan spells at the likes of Burnley, Crystal Palace and Norwich City, Bamford is set to sign for Middlesbrough,  where the 23-year-old won the Championship’s Player of the Year during a loan spell at the Riverside in 2015.

The Guardian claim Bamford will sign a four-and-a-half year deal with Aitor Karanka’s side and Chelsea could end up reaping a fee in the region of £10 million for the England Under-21 international.

£10 million?! It shouldn’t be forgotten that Chelsea signed Bamford for just £1.5 million from Nottingham Forest in 2012 and he’s NEVER made a senior appearance for the Blues.

So, without ever playing him in their first-team, Chelsea have managed to increase their asset by £8,500,000 and some fans are pretty surprised:

What do you make of the price? And how do Chelsea continually extract inflated transfer fees for players that don’t really contribute to them?
