Nobody Can Believe Spurs Have Managed to Get £8M for Tom Carroll

Tottenham have apparently agreed a deal to sell midfielder Tom Carroll to Swansea City and fans of both clubs can’t believe how high the fee is.

The England Under-21 international has struggled to break into the Spurs’ first-team under current boss Mauricio Pochettino and has spent the past several seasons on loan at clubs like QPR and Swansea themselves.

Now 24, it seems as though Carroll is in dire need of regular top-flight football, and despite the Swans’ relegation battle, it seems he has opted to head for the Liberty Stadium.

However, the fact that the Welsh club have reportedly agreed to pay £8 million for Carroll seems a little pricey given the fact he’s made just 24 league appearances for Tottenham in the last seven years.

And it seems we’re not the only ones who raised eyebrows at the fee:

What do you think? Is £8 million a fair enough price in the current cash-rich Premier League market?

Or is the fee just a little bit over the top?
