Rangers Fan Shares Email Where RB Leipzig Confirm They’ve No Interest in Barrie McKay

A Rangers fan has shared an email which appears to show RB Leipzig confirming that they’ve made no approach to sign Barrie McKay.

The Ibrox winger’s name has been all over social media today after’s report that the Bundesliga outfit are considering a £6million move for him.

That’s been particularly interesting because plenty of fans believe he’s not worth it, while the majority of Rangers supporters hope he’s not leaving the club anytime soon.

If you’re a Rangers fan then you’ll no doubt be familiar with the work of Gregco – @gregco5088 on Twitter – and he appears to have shed some more light on the whole story.

He’s shared a screengrab of an email he alleges to have sent earlier today to RB Leipzig press spokesperson Benjamin Ippoliti in which he poses as a journalist and asks for comment on the story:

If true, Ippoliti’s response is: “Good afternoon. Off the record I can tell you, that there is no truth. Kind regards. Benjamin.”

Unfortunately for Ippoliti there was no chance of his response staying “off the record” as the Rangers fan isn’t a journalist and therefore doesn’t recognise standard journalism ethics.

What it does do, however, is reassure Gers fans that McKay won’t be heading to Leipzig this window and increases their chances of holding on to him for the second half of the campaign at least.

In this week’s show, Daniel is joined by website editor Jonny as they get stuck into the January transfer window and what’s to come for Scottish clubs. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Hibs and more all get the coverage!
