Ronaldinho Admits to Being Jealous of Dele Alli’s Goal For Spurs v Palace

He might still be relatively young, but Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has already received a plethora of awards and platitudes – but we’re willing to bet Ronaldinho admitting to being jealous of one of his goals is up there with the best of them.

The former Brazil and Barcelona attacker is regarded by many to be one of the greatest footballers of all-time, with his penchant for entertaining crowds whilst destroying opposition teams a thing of beauty.

But despite all of the world class goals he scored during his glittering career, Ronaldinho admits he wishes he’d been responsible for one of Alli’s.

Of course, the strike Ronnie is referring to is the stunning volley from Spurs’ match with Crystal Palace last season.

Speaking via the Mirror, Ronaldinho said: “I saw Dele Alli’s goal last year and it looked like a goal I would like to score.

“There’s no explanation for goals like that.

“It’s very thrilling to inspire someone to such a great goal. I can barely put it all into words.”

After a disappointing summer at the Euros with England, Alli seems to be back to his best with Mauricio Pochettino’s side, having scored nine goals in his last eight games for the north London side.

Alli is still only just 20-years-old and he’s already made Ronaldinho envious.

Now THAT is an achievement.
