Some Arsenal supporters believed Arseblog’s joke about a Chinese club offering Alexis Sanchez a £900,000 per week contract.
The January transfer window is just four days old, but we’ve already had to deal with some serious rumours about top European players heading to China.
Oscar was the first to make the move, swapping Chelsea for Shanghai SIPG in a huge £60million move which will see him earn £500k per week.
Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was today linked with a switch to the same Chinese Super League side in a reported £125million switch which would break the world transfer record.
China is the January transfer buzz word – and it’s only a matter of time before another of Europe’s best players is at the centre of a swoop from the Asian powerhouse.
But Sanchez isn’t one who will be heading to China – at least not for the £900k per week wages Arseblog – a popular Arsenal blogger – reported on Twitter this morning.
Why? Because it’s fake, of course. On first glance this tweet below looks legitimate, but just say the name of the source a few times and it should become pretty clear that it’s all just a joke:

Is it this guy we’re talking about?
Plenty of Arsenal fans have been had by that tweet, with one supporter account regurgitating it as legitimate news.
But don’t worry, Alexis isn’t going anywhere near China as far as we all know. That’s not to say his future is at Arsenal, though, particularly after his reaction to the club drawing 3-3 with Bournemouth last night.
