We all get a bit carried away when major international tournaments are on and our country is involved, but few actually risk serious injury – unless you’re Yannick Bolasie.
The Everton winger is currently out for the rest of the season after suffering a brutal knee injury earlier in the campaign, meaning he couldn’t represent his beloved DR Congo in the African Cup of Nations.
Still laid-up in bed and on crutches, the former Crystal Palace winger was forced to watch his international colleagues in Gabon from the comfort of his own couch – but as you can see, that didn’t dull the excitement:

The match eventually ended 2-2, but the Congo getting even a draw against Ivory Coast, one of the favourites for the tournament, is probably a bit like Scotland drawing with Brazil at the World Cup, and whilst that’ll probably never happen again, Bolasie was keen to soak up the moment.
If he’d been fit, who knows, they could have grasped all three points.
