Video: Scotland’s Oliver Burke Scores For RB Leipzig Against Rangers

Rangers‘ leaky defence was punished by a familiar face earlier today when Scotland international Oliver Burke scored for RB Leipzig in the two teams’ friendly in Germany.

In the absence of European football, Rangers travelled to the home of the Bundesliga side for a glamour tie during their winter break, and opted to give a debut to new signing Jon Toral.

However, it wasn’t too long before the German side’s experience and class told, with Timo Werner rounding Wes Foderingham and scoring the opener.

And before half-time, Burke added a second after peeling away from his marker and coolly slotting the ball beyond the Gers’ helpless goalkeeper:

After 16 games in the German top-flight this season, Leipzig are just three points behind giants Bayern Munich and stand a great chance of playing Champions League football next season.

Losing to a side of that calibre brings absolutely no shame on Mark Warburton’s side at all.
