Why Summer Harl is Getting So Much Attention From Celtic Fans Right Now

If you’re a Celtic fan, then we’d be amazed if you hadn’t already heard of Summer Harl.

She’s the Celtic TV presenter you would have seen leading their online content on match days and interviewing players and staff throughout the last year.

Harl hails from Norwich, but has proven very popular with supporters for the work she’s done and the support she shows for the team on Twitter.

But she’s no longer on the social networking site after deleting her account – and no one knows why.

It happened last week and her usual @summerharl handle still hasn’t been reactivated. Given her activity and popularity on Twitter (she had over 17,000 followers at the last count) that didn’t go unnoticed with supporters, who were quick to post themselves about the reason behind her deleting the account:

That’s just a sample of tweets and, as you can see, the majority of fans either don’t know what’s happened or believe she was forced off because of tweets sent to her account. You can see many more on Twitter by simply searching for Summer Harl.

Some are also speculating that she’s lost her job because Celtic posted an advert looking for a new multimedia reporter – similar to the role she fulfils at the club.

But that’s purely another role and, from what we’ve been told, Harl has still got her job at Celtic.

And it’s been suggested to us that she’s been advised to remove herself from Twitter because of some of the comments she’s been receiving, but none have been mentioned specifically.

It’s a shame Harl has had to take that step to get away from some of the social media abuse, but she should make a return to the Celtic TV screen soon and we wouldn’t be surprised if she returned to social media too.

In this week’s show, Daniel is joined by website editor Jonny as they get stuck into the January transfer window and what’s to come for Scottish clubs. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Hibs and more all get the coverage!
