Arsenal Fans Are Slaughtering Francis Coquelin’s Performance v Bayern Munich

Arsenal fans are absolutely slaughtering midfielder Francis Coquelin for his performance in Germany against Bayern Munich tonight, with many calling for the Frenchman to be subbed off.

The 25-year-old started in the centre of the pitch alongside Granit Xhaka for this evening’s daunting last-16 Champions League first leg in Bavaria, and it wasn’t too long before he was exposed by some of Bayern’s stars.

It took Arjen Robben 11 minutes to attempt his first shot by cutting in from the right and shooting with his left foot, but rather than trying to show him down the line, Coquelin decided to show him inside, and, well, Robben found the top corner.

That, and a string of misplaced passes and ill-timed tackles haven’t gone unnoticed by Gooners on social media, many of whom have seen plenty from him:

What do you think of the reaction? Do you rate Coquelin as an elite player at this level?
