Video: Aiden McGeady Turned into Lionel Messi for 10 Seconds vs Birmingham

Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady might have transformed into Lionel Messi last night, as his Preston side sealed a 2-1 victory against Birmingham.

McGeady may not have done enough to get his name on the score sheet, with Jordan Hugill and Callum Robertson finding the net, but the Irishman still dazzled the crowd at Deepdale with a fantastic run at goal.

The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan at Preston from Everton, picked the ball up at the half-way line, before skipping past one defender and performing a mesmerising roulette to beat another.

McGeady then used his strength to hold off a third Birmingham player before passing the ball out wide to a teammate:

This footage will surely bamboozle Toffee fans who saw McGeady struggle during his first season at Goodison Park, before he was sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday last term.

Does McGeady still have enough in the tank to perform at the highest level?

Or is this clip yet another example of what the winger could have achieved in his career had he made better choices?
