Anthony Martial Takes a Shot at Newspaper Gossip in His Latest Tweet

Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has taken to social media to have a go at newspapers, insisting their gossip about him is not to be believed.

The 21-year-old was United’s top-scorer with 17 goals last season but following a disappointing European Championships with host nation France, Martial has struggled to find consistency under Jose Mourinho this season.

He was left on the bench for the Red Devils’ 3-0 victory away at Leicester City yesterday, prompting several newspapers to speculate that he could be set to leave Old Trafford in the summer.

However, it seems any reports of that nature are wide of the mark, as the former Monaco man was keen to stress on Twitter earlier today:

United next play Watford at home in the Premier League this Saturday, but it remains to be seen if Martial will be involved from the start – or even involved at all.

What do you think of his current situation? Should he look to leave when the transfer window opens?
