Ashley Young Sums Up How Manchester United Fans Will Be Feeling This Morning

Ashley Young has perfectly summed up how Manchester United fans will be feeling this morning.

The Old Trafford wideman didn’t get off the bench as Jose Mourinho’s men beat Southampton 3-2 at Wembley yesterday to win the EFL Cup.

But it doesn’t matter – he’s still enjoying being a winner in the first domestic final of this campaign.

United have Zlatan Ibrahimovic to thank for emerging victorious in a crazy affair at the English national stadium, as he scored late on to seal the win.

He’d opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick before Jesse Lingard added the second for United. But Claude Puel’s Saints hit back with a Manolo Gabbiadini double.

That left it up to Zlatan to head home in the 87th minute for the win – and sparked wild celebrations among the players, coaching staff and fans.

Young obviously enjoyed them despite not playing a minute in the final and his Instagram post this morning probably sums up how every other United fan is feeling this Monday:

United will now turn their attention to a strong end to the Premier League season, with their eyes set on a top four spot at the very least.

They’re also in the Europa League last 16 and the quarter finals of the FA Cup so yesterday’s win means a cup treble is still very much a realistic target.
