Dedryck Boyata has praised the Celtic fans for their support – which has culminated in the Belgian defender earning his own song.
The Hoops centre back has been back in the team for the last five games and has impressed as Brendan Rodgers’ men extended their unbeaten domestic run to 29 games.
He also got two goals in that run, netting winners against St Johnstone and Aberdeen, before his manager publicly stated that he’s got a future at the club.
Earlier this season that would have looked unthinkable as Boyata struggled with fitness and form – something he’s all too aware of as he showed his appreciation for the fans’ support.
Speaking to the Celtic View about his new song, Boyata, per celticfc.net, said: “I heard it. KT was singing it in the changing room. It’s nice to have that. If you saw how the year was ending last season then I wouldn’t have expected that but I’m taking every single moment right now and I think it’s a good song.”
It’s not only Kieran Tierney who’s been singing it in the changing room – Scott Brown has been too. The Celtic captain was heard singing it in the away dressing room after his side’s 5-2 win over St Johnstone at the weekend.
Boyata has emerged as a commanding presence at the back for Celtic and it can only be good for Brendan Rodgers and his team that they have so many quality options in the centre of defence.
If he can keep his impressive form up then the Boyata song will be a popular tune at home and away games for the foreseeable future.
