Former Crystal Palace Owner Simon Jordan Sticks Up For Rangers Fans

Rangers and their supporters found an unlikely ally this afternoon in the shape of flashy former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan.

The mobile phone entrepreneur owned Palace for a decade before departing the club in 2010, and he has some thoughts on the current situation at Rangers following Mark Warburton’s departure.

Earlier today, Warburton gave his first statement, via the LMA, since his controversial exit from Ibrox on Friday night but Jordan was keen to point a few things out for Gers fans looking on.

On top of his friendly advice for the Glasgow giants, Jordan pleaded for a strong Rangers to return, and insisted the club’s long-suffering supporters have been through enough over the past five years:

With Dave King seemingly either unable or unwilling to finance what might be needed to challenge Celtic for the Premiership title next season, could Simon Jordan perhaps be looking to get back involved in football?

His time at Palace wasn’t always a smooth ride, but he must still have a few quid tucked away, no?
