Johan Djourou Sends Arsenal Fan a Signed Shirt After Instagram Squabble

Ex-Arsenal defender Johan Djourou proved his class this week, by sending a supporter a signed shirt after a row erupted on Instagram.

Seven days ago, following Granit Xhaka’s red card vs Burnley, Djourou attempted to defend his Swiss teammate, claiming Arsenal won the game… and that’s all that really matters.

He added: “Granit gives everything for the Arsenal shirt and that’s his style of play so don’t be too hard on him! He plays with passion. He will learn!!”

Some fans gave the Hamburg defender some stick following his passionate comments.

However, one supporter was so impressed with Djourou’s stance that he got in touch with the 30-year-old.

And it seems a fruitful friendship has since blossomed, as Djourou appears to have sent the fan a signed shirt and wished him well:

Djourou joined the Gunners in 2003, having made his way through the youth set up after leaving Swiss side Étoile Carouge.

The star spent the next 11 years trying to force his way into the first team at the Emirates, however after a succession of loan moves, Djourou left Arsenal in 2014 and moved to the Bundesliga.
