Manuel Neuer Tells Facebook Followers Thrashing Arsenal Was Like a ‘Holiday’

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has tried his best to wind-up Arsenal supporters – by comparing his side’s win over the Gunners to a relaxing beach holiday.

The German World Cup winner was between the sticks for last week’s Champions League last-16 first-leg tie between the two teams in Bavaria, with Bayern crushing the Premier League giants 5-1.

With little hope of a comeback in the second-leg, you’d think Neuer and his team-mates would be content, but it seems he felt the need to stick the boot into Arsene Wenger’s hurting players one more time.

Bayern were back in action in the Bundesliga at the weekend and saw their lead at the top cut to five points after being held to a frustrating 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin.

And during a Facebook chat earlier today, Neuer, noting the difference between the two results, described the draw as “hard work” after “the holiday on Wednesday”:

“After the holiday last Wednesday, yesterday was again a hard-working day,” he wrote.

The rematch is on March 7 – and probably every Arsenal fan in the world is hoping that night is a little less like a holiday for the shot-stopper.
