Memphis Depay Given 2/10 Rating By L’Equipe For His Full Lyon Debut

He might have ended his Manchester United hell, but Memphis Depay‘s troubles seem to be far from over, if his Lyon debut is anything to go by.

The Holland international sealed a transfer to the French club during the January transfer window, bringing to a close his fruitless 18 months in the English Premier League at Old Trafford.

And wearing the No.9 jersey, the pacey winger was was awarded his first start in France for last night’s 2-0 defeat at St. Etienne, and it’s probably fair to say things didn’t go to plan for either Depay, or his new team-mates.

The 22-year-old was preferred to Mathieu Valbuena in the starting line-up, but was given just a measly 2/10 for his performance by French newspaper L’Equipe.

The atrocious mark was the joint-worse on the pitch alongside defender and teammate Emanuel Mammana, and the result leaves Lyon fourth in Ligue 1 – a whopping 15 points off leaders Lyon.

What happened to the exciting, world class talent we all saw at PSV?
