Thierry Henry seems to be settling into his coaching role with the Belgian national side, so much so that he’s started dishing out nicknames to some of the team’s high profile players – but what he’s christened Romelu Lukaku is slightly weird.
The Arsenal legend joined the Red Devils’ bid to reach the 2018 World Cup in Russia last year, and is assistant to former Everton manager Roberto Martinez.
Having a bona fide legend like Henry around the training ground can’t be a bad thing for the likes of Lukaku, or his fellow strikers Michy Batshuayi and Christian Benteke.
But Henry seriously needs to have a word with himself when it comes to odd nicknames.
Speaking via the Mirror, the Sky Sports pundit explained: “All the Red Devils want to learn.
“I call Romelu the lawyer. He discusses everything, even his socks.
“It’s important that people know that because sometimes they think the younger generation doesn’t care enough.”
The lawyer? We’re not entirely sure that’s the most fitting nickname for somebody who ‘discusses everything’.
We’ll see if Lukaku can perhaps persuade Henry to sort his patter out when the Belgians meet up for their next qualifier in March against Greece.
