Cristiano Ronaldo may have been lucky to avoid a booking during Real Madrid‘s victory over Osasuna last night, but that didn’t stop him from pulling a cheeky face at the crowd behind the referee’s back.
Ronaldo opened the scoring on the 24th minute, however Osasuna striker León Limones chipped in an equaliser before half time.
While the game was still in the balance, Ronaldo was judged to have been offside after being released by a beautiful pass from midfield.
Despite the linesman raising his flag, the Portugese superstar continued with his run into Osasuna’s box, before delicately chipping the goalkeeper.
Usually ignoring the referee’s whistle in La Liga would result in an automatic yellow card, however, Ronaldo protested that he couldn’t hear the whistle over the noisy home crowd.
The referee eventually gave Ronaldo the benefit of the doubt and kept his card in his pocket.
Having escaped punishment, the 30-year-old then turned to the Osasuna fans and cheekily spat his tongue out.
Madrid were a different team after the interval and goals from Isco and Lucas Vazquez saw Zinedine Zidane’s side go top of the table, ahead of Barcelona.
