In fairness to Stones, he and the entire City backline looked less than self-assured from the first whistle, in-keeping with the club’s leaky displays in the Premier League this season.
But the standout moment of the entire match was when a revitalised Radamel Falcao took Stones to the cleaners and made him look like a schoolboy, before calmly chipping the ball over a helpless Willy Caballero:

It wasn’t a moment Stones will be wanting to dwell on too much, and he did come up with a response by scoring to make it 4-3 in the 5-3 victory.
And to give him even more credit, the England international has also fronted up and faced TV cameras to explain the brutal moment:
Stones: – I'll have to analyse it and be very critical of myself.

Don’t worry about it too much, John – when he’s in that sort of form, Falcao can do that to anybody.
What do you make of Stones’ progression at City this season?
