Barton was in the Clarets team which lost 1-0 to the Non League outfit after a late Sean Raggett header sealed a quarter final berth.
It was a giant-killing which quite rightly earned all the headlines this weekend. But Barton also grabbed a few himself after a number of run-ins with the Lincoln players.
He was criticised on social media for his over-the-top reaction to being caught with an arm by striker Matt Rhead and could have been sent off later on when his stray hand caught midfielder Terry Hawkridge on the face.
So Lincoln fans would have enjoyed the victory even more considering it came over the controversial Barton and his team-mates.
One supporter actually came across Barton driving out of the game post-match and made sure a camera was filming as he gave the Englishman some abuse about his ill-fated spell as a Rangers player.
Barton’s final game for the Ibrox club came in the 5-1 defeat to Celtic in September and the supporter – named Johnjo McGovern – couldn’t resist giving him some stick over it:

In case you can’t make out what McGovern says:
“Hey Joey Barton. 5-1 to Celtic haha. What was better – getting beat by Celtic 5-1 or getting beat to us? Look at your face!”
After sending the video to us, the Lincoln fan added: “It was next to Turf Moor. To be fair he just shook his head. Jon Flanagan was giving me some stick though.”
