Borussia Dortmund reached the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League last night, as Julian Schwermann took centre stage with an outrageous strike.
Schwermann is usually deployed as a right back, having made three appearances for Germany U-18’s.
However, last night the youngster appeared to take on the role of a lethal finisher as he pulled off this impressive Marco Van Basten impression:

Dominik Wanner’s pinpoint cross found Schwermann in acres of space at the far post, after the 17-year-old had executed an inch-perfect run into the opposition box.
However, Schwermann still had a lot to do.
And didn’t he make it look easy.
Schermann let rip at Royie Fucs goal and his explosive finish left the Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper with no chance.
Not a bad technique from a player who is more accustomed to stopping the cross rather than taking advantage of one to seal a victory.
The draw for the last 16 of the competition takes place on February 13.
