Adrian Durham Accuses Chris Sutton of ‘Scoring Points’ After Mention of Tommy Gemmell’s Funeral

Adrian Durham’s petty argument with Chris Sutton over the last 24 hours has reached its lowest point after the talkSPORT presenter claimed the BT Sport pundit was using Tommy Gemmell’s funeral to point score.

The pair have been going at it on social media since Sutton appeared as a guest on Durham’s Drive time show yesterday.

The majority of the appearance was spent with Durham talking over the former Celtic man as they debated Scottish football being in crisis.

And it continued on Twitter, with Sutton tweeting to the controversial English radio presenter that tonight’s Championship clash between Dundee United and Hibs would prove the game up north isn’t in crisis:

Durham was quick to notice – and hit back at Sutton with this:

To which Sutton then replied:

Before then adding:

Lisbon Lion Gemmell was laid to rest earlier today – just over a week after his death at the age of 73 was announced by Celtic.

He’s quite rightly been dominating headlines in Scotland, with hundreds turning out to pay tribute to him at Celtic Park before his funeral.

But Durham bizarrely believes Sutton is using that to point score:

And with Celtic fans quick to pick up on Durham’s comment, Sutton added a measured response:

Sutton is a controversial figure for some of his opinions on Scottish football, but to suggest he’d use the funeral of a Celtic legend to point score with a talkSPORT presenter is wrong.
