Brendan Rodgers Pays Tribute to Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila Ahead of Title Win

Brendan Rodgers has paid tribute to his Celtic predecessors ahead of winning his first Scottish Premiership title.

This time last year, the Hoops were struggling to get over the finish line on their way to winning their fifth consecutive championship, with the underwhelming nature spelling the end for Ronny Deila.

But despite the remarkable turnaround under Rodgers this season, the Norther Irishman was quick to praise Deila’s work this afternoon, as well as his predecessor Neil Lennon.

Rodgers spoke to the media this afternoon ahead of his side’s trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts on Sunday:

Celtic can secure the title themselves on Sunday, but they could do it this evening without kicking a ball if Dundee manage to beat second-placed Aberdeen at Dens Park.

But what do you make of Rodgers’ praise for Lennon and Deila? Is he right to put a spotlight on the foundations they’ve laid? Or is he simply being a bit modest?

On this week’s show, Daniel is joined by team members Nicky Boyle and Michael Nield as they talk Scotland, the youth culture in the country and a potential title party at Tynecastle:
