Fans have hailed James Milner as the ‘best penalty kick taker in the world’ after his goal against Manchester City.
The Liverpool left back got the chance to open the scoring from the spot after Gael Clichy took Roberto Firmino down in the box in the second half.
Whether or not it was a penalty is a debate that will happen elsewhere – we’re interested in the quality of Milner’s penalty kicks.
The Englishman has now scored all seven of the seven penalties he’s taken this season, quite rightly earning his status as one of the best penalty kick takers in the world from some fans:
It’s hard to disagree with them when you see how clinical Milner has been this season – and throughout his career in the Premier League.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, they’ve lost the lead they gained from Milner’s goal after conceding a Sergio Aguero strike.
It came shortly after their goal, with Kevin de Bruyne finding Aguero in the six-yard box to tap in.
