Khabib Nurmagomedov Out of UFC 209

Khabib won’t be able to smash Tony Ferguson tomorrow night.

The Eagle of Dagestan has been pulled from his interim Lightweight title fight with Tony Ferguson at UFC 209.

Numerous Russian outlets reported earlier today that Nurmagomedov had been taken to an area hospital due to weight cutting complications, where he was allegedly treated with an IV.

The MMA journalists in attendance reported via Twitter that the room was in chaos while waiting to see if Khabib would make weight. Apparently, Nurmagomedov did not show up to the weigh in, and the UFC immediately announced that the fight was canceled.

According to the UFC’s official statement, The Eagle has already been released from the hospital. Apparently, he is not in good enough shape to fight.

More on this situation and any possible replacement fights for Ferguson as it comes down the pipe.
