With Bastian Schweinsteiger today announcing his departure from Old Trafford, Manchester United have reacted by positing a seriously awkward video of the German’s ‘highlights’ on social media.
And, as you’d expect from a player who made just 18 appearances in two seasons, the video isn’t exactly what you’d call action packed.
In fact, we think you deserve a prize if you can pick out a single moment where the German international actually has the ball at his feet.
It’s no secret that Schweinsteiger’s move to the Premier League hasn’t exactly paid off, as despite being heralded as a great signing my most United fans, he was quickly frozen out by Jose Mourinho after Louis Van Gaal’s departure.
The World Cup winner’s lack of playing time meant he was restricted to watching the team from the stands and participating in a lot of charity and community work for the club:

A 57-second long clip featuring Schweini in training gear surely isn’t what most United fans expected when the club brought in a player who has won eight Bundesliga titles and a Champions League.
Subject to passing his medical and being granted a visa, the 32-year-old will complete a move to MLS side Chicago Fire.
