Michel Platini Brands Former FIFA Chief Sepp Blatter A ‘Political Animal’

Michel Platini has branded former FIFA President Sepp Blatter a “political animal”.

The ex-UEFA chief blasted Blatter and also called him “the most selfish man” who believed he would “died and be buried at FIFA.”

Both men were suspended by FIFA after it emerged that Blatter had authorised a payment of £1.3million to Platini in 2011.

That resulted in Blatter losing his post as head of world football’s governing body, while Platini was also forced to step down as head of European football.

‘Don’t believe Blatter’

In his first interview since being suspended, Platini told French newspaper Le Monde that he doesn’t know what he has done wrong and

He said: “I do not know what I have done wrong. Do not always believe what Blatter says.

“He will always tell you what you want to hear but he is an exceptional political animal.

“He never defended me. He is the most selfish person I have ever seen.

“He thought he would grow old and die and be buried at FIFA.”

On this week’s show, Daniel is joined by team members Nicky Boyle and Michael Nield as they talk Scotland, the youth culture in the country and a potential title party at Tynecastle:
