Michel Platini has branded former FIFA President Sepp Blatter a “political animal”.
The ex-UEFA chief blasted Blatter and also called him “the most selfish man” who believed he would “died and be buried at FIFA.”
Suspended
Both men were suspended by FIFA after it emerged that Blatter had authorised a payment of £1.3million to Platini in 2011.
That resulted in Blatter losing his post as head of world football’s governing body, while Platini was also forced to step down as head of European football.
‘Don’t believe Blatter’
In his first interview since being suspended, Platini told French newspaper Le Monde that he doesn’t know what he has done wrong and
He said: “I do not know what I have done wrong. Do not always believe what Blatter says.
“He will always tell you what you want to hear but he is an exceptional political animal.
“He never defended me. He is the most selfish person I have ever seen.
“He thought he would grow old and die and be buried at FIFA.”
