Monaco’s Andrea Raggi Wants to Beat Leicester City to Avenge Claudio Ranieri

Monaco defender Andrea Raggi has decided who he wants to face in the quarter-finals of the Champions League – Leicester City.

Raggi was part of the Monaco team that crushed Manchester City’s European dreams and the Italian defender wants to do the exact same to the Foxes, in a bid to avenge Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri was of course sacked by Leicester in February, nine months after leading the club to the unlikeliest Premier League title in history.

And Ranieri’s dismissal has clearly rubbed the veteran centre-back up the wrong way, especially considering Ranieri was Raggi’s manager during his first few seasons in Ligue 1.

Raggi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, ““I want to face Leicester in the quarter-finals.

“It would be a fun challenge, but I also want to avenge Ranieri, who yesterday wrote me a lovely message of congratulations.”

Monaco sealed a thrilling away-goals victory in the Stade Louis II to shock Pep Guardiola’s team, a victory which surely makes them among the serious contenders to win the famous trophy?
