Video: Were Arsenal Denied a Clear Penalty Against Bayern Munich?

The odds of Arsenal coming back from 5-1 down against Bayern Munich tonight were always minimal, but it didn’t help that the officials looked as though they’d denied them a clear penalty kick.

The Gunners went into tonight’s Champions League last-16 second-leg a whopping four goals behind from the first match in Bavaria, however, Theo Walcott managed to reduce the deficit early in the first-half.

Arsenalhad started brightly, and looked really up for it, so when Walcott scored, it sparked a promising spell, and the England man continued to run behind the Bayern defence.

And a few moments later, it looked like he was clearly brought down in the area by former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, but neither the referee or his officials pointed to the spot:

It looks like Alonso got a toe to the ball before taking Walcott out, but does that matter?
