Having lost 5-1 in Germany several weeks ago, the Arsenal players went into tonight’s Champions League last-16 second-leg knowing that qualification for the quarter-finals was almost impossible, but Arsene Wenger’s men started in the right fashion, and went for their opponents’ jugular.
After a bright opening spell, Walcott managed to expose David Alaba before steadying himself and lashing a powerful effort at Manuel Neuer’s near post – and somehow it found a way through:

We can’t quite make up our minds if that’s a really great finish or if it’s more of a goalkeeping error.
But to beat a keeper of Neuer’s stature all ends up from such a tight angle definitely deserves some credit, no?
