Video: Arsenal’s Theo Walcott Somehow Beats Manuel Neuer at His Near Post

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott smashed his side into the lead against Bayern Munich in the Champions League this evening, proving to many of his doubters that he can indeed perform at the top level.

Having lost 5-1 in Germany several weeks ago, the Arsenal players went into tonight’s Champions League last-16 second-leg knowing that qualification for the quarter-finals was almost impossible, but Arsene Wenger’s men started in the right fashion, and went for their opponents’ jugular.

After a bright opening spell, Walcott managed to expose David Alaba before steadying himself and lashing a powerful effort at Manuel Neuer’s near post – and somehow it found a way through:

We can’t quite make up our minds if that’s a really great finish or if it’s more of a goalkeeping error.

But to beat a keeper of Neuer’s stature all ends up from such a tight angle definitely deserves some credit, no?

What do you think?
