Video: Liverpool’s Joe Gomez Scores Brilliant Volley For Club’s Under-23s

Liverpool fans might have let Joe Gomez slip their minds but the youngster showed last night he’s still got what it takes to make it at the club with a brilliant goal for the Under-23s.

The 19-year-old defender looked like a potential superstar when he was signed from Charlton back in 2015 and given a chance in the first-team under previous Red boss Brendan Rodgers, but just weeks into Jurgen Klopp arriving at Anfield, Gomez suffered an horrific knee injury.

He hasn’t been able to make much of a dent on the Liverpool first-team since, but playing for the Under-23s last night against Reading, he reacted quickest to a corner and showed excellent awareness, movement and finesse to score a pretty decent goal:

Gomez has previously played at left-back for Liverpool, and with James Milner currently filling in there, could Gomez be the long-term solution? What do you think?
