Video: Lyon’s Memphis Depay Scores Ridiculous Goal From the Halfway Line

Lyon‘s Memphis Depay scored a ridiculous goal from the halfway line against Toulouse today.

The Dutch winger made a slow start to life in France after signing from Manchester United in a £16million move in January.

He went four games without a goal or assist before netting against Nancy in March – and the productivity has improved ever since.

Depay has hit four goals and laid on two for his team-mates in his last four games, with the latest strikes coming in today’s Ligue 1 clash at home against Toulouse.

And everyone will be talking about his second goal of the game, something David Beckham would be proud of:

Depay regularly failed to show his quality in a United shirt and that’s why Jose Mourinho decided to let him leave Old Trafford in January.

But maybe Lyon will provide him with the perfect opportunity to show the world he’s still good enough to be playing at football’s top level?
