Video: Manuel Neuer Doesn’t Take Days Off…Even on His Birthday

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is one of the finest shot-stoppers in the world… and it’s not hard to see why when you consider his work ethic.

Yes, while most of us would take the day off, kick back and relax when a birthday comes around, Neuer refused to take his foot off the gas today as he turned 31.

Neuer missed both of Germany’s games during the international break, with a calf injury ruling him out of his countries 1-0 friendly win over England and the 4-1 victory over Azerbaijan on Sunday.

However, the Bayern no.1 isn’t the sort to take time away from the training field to nurse any niggles of bumps and bruises.

Instead, the man who is widely considered the best goalkeeper in the world, has been videoed completing a full-on session with a coach at Bayern’s training facility:

Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno and Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen both shared time between the sticks for Germany during the games against England and Azerbaijan.

However, it would surely be too bold to imagine either goalie could steal the job from Neuer on a long-term basis.
