The Belgian striker has been in the headlines this week following news reports that he has knocked back an extension to his contract at Goodison Park.
Reports weeks ago stated that he’d agreed to sign a lucrative new deal to keep him at Everton, but they’ve been followed by updates this week that he’s actually rejected an offer of an extended stay.
That’ll be disappointing news for everyone involved with Everton, particularly the fans.
But they didn’t show it today as they continually backed the player and the team as they beat Hull 4-0.
Lukaku got two goals in injury time of the game and was quick to head for a section of the home supporters at the full-time whistle to gift a fan his shirt.
And, as he ran away towards the tunnel, those supporters continued to sign his name – showing there’s no animosity between them after recent news:

Maybe the Everton fans are planning a charm offensive to persuade Lukaku to stay at the club beyond his current contract?
That deal doesn’t end until after next season so there’s still plenty of time, but everything points towards the Belgian being away from Merseyside come then.
