Kylian Mbappe was so good for Monaco against Caen that he got a rousing applause from both sets of supporters when substituted in the game.
The French striker is enjoying a breakout season for Monaco in both Ligue 1 and in the Champions League.
He’s got 19 goals and five assists in all competitions as the Stade Louis II sit top of the league and in the quarter finals of Europe’s premier competition.
And Mbappe is showing no signs of letting up after scoring nine goals in his last eight games before today’s trip to Caen.
But he’s made it 11 from nine with a double against the struggling Ligue 1 side as Monaco won 3-0. He also won the penalty that led to Fabinho scoring their other goal.
You’d expect Mbappe’s own supporters would recognise how good he’s been as he was substituted late on in the game, but he must have been surprised to see the Caen fans also show their appreciation for his performance:
With Mbappe in this form, it’s hard to see how Monaco will be caught in Ligue 1 and even harder to see Borussia Dortmund knocking them out of the Champions League.
