Is there anything David Luiz can’t do now at Chelsea?
The Brazilian defender was always brilliant on the ball in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, but it was his defending which was regularly called into question.
When he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, there weren’t too many disappointed Blues fans – and pretty much everyone was surprised when he returned to London in a £34million move in the summer.
But it’s a different Luiz that’s returned. This one can actually defend consistently – as shown by his performances alongside Gary Cahill for Antonio Conte’s team.
They’ve shipped just 20 goals in the Premier League so far this season and the team currently sit top with a 10-point lead over Tottenham.
That’s not to say Luiz is just a stopper now – he’s still capable of the sensational, as he showed with this left foot volley in training this week:
There’s not much left for the Brazilian to master now.
He was preparing for Chelsea’s clash with Stoke at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday – another crucial game in their bid to wrap up the league title in Conte’s first season at the club.
