With Pedro Caixinha set to become the new Rangers manager, ex-Gers winger Vladimir Weiss has congratulated the Portuguese tactician, telling him to “enjoy the best fans in the world.”
Al-Gharafa confirmed via Twitter this afternoon that they had granted Caixinha’s departure from the club, as the 46-year-old completes the long-awaited move to become Mark Warburton’s successor at Ibrox.
One player who’s probably best-placed to comment on the new Rangers boss is Weiss, who currently plays for the Qatari club.
Weiss spent the 2010 season on loan at Rangers from Manchester City, winning the league title and the League Cup under Walter Smith.
However, despite leaving Govan after just 23 appearances, the Slovakian international remains a fan of Rangers, often posting about the club on social media.
And Weiss couldn’t help but congratulate his former manager on taking the job:
Congratulations Pedro! Good luck to you and your team.. enjoy the best fans in the world @RangersFC #watp

With Weiss having played 26 games and scoring 12 goals since joining Al-Gharafa in January, could Caixinha be tempted to sign the 27-year-old in the summer?
