Was Wes Morgan’s Celebration After Goal v Sevilla Inspired by Captain Morgan Sponsorship Deal?

Was Wes Morgan’s celebration after his goal against Sevilla tonight inspired by his Captain Morgan sponsorship deal?

The Leicester City captain could have set himself up to be the hero at the King Power Stadium after turning home a Riyad Mahrez cross to give his side a 1-0 lead on the night.

That’s enough to send them through to the Champions League quarter-finals after grabbing an away goal in their first leg 2-1 defeat in Spain.

But we’re not interested in any of that – we want to know what his celebration was all about?

On first glance, we could only assume that it was a nod to the sponsorship deal he signed with rum brand Captain Morgan in the summer.

And fans are thinking the same:

Some bizarre details of Morgan’s contract with the drinks company were revealed after the Foxes captain led the club to the Premier League title last season.

But there was no mention of a specific contract – although we wouldn’t be surprised it was later confirmed that he’s required to do this new spyglass celebration.
