Chris Sutton Tries to Take a Dig at Rangers Fan Over Joleon Lescott But Makes a Mess of it

Chris Sutton tried to take a dig at a Rangers fan over Joleon Lescott – but ended up making a mess of it after mentioning the wrong team.

The BT Sport pundit regularly interacts with supporters of the Scottish game on Twitter, with Gers fans particularly keen to give their view to the former Celtic striker.

Sutton was tweeting about what his PFA Team of the Year would be, including Virgil van Dijk despite his lack of action since January through injury.

One Rangers supporter didn’t agree with that – simply responding to say that the Southampton man shouldn’t be included as he’s only played 18 games in the league this season.

But Sutton wasn’t up for debating, aiming a dig at the supporter about jealousy and Joleon Lescott apparently rejecting a move to the club in the summer:

Unfortunately for Sutton, Lescott didn’t sign for Olympiakos – he actually signed for AEK Athens in Greece before returning to Sunderland in January.
