David Moyes Says Sorry For Threatening to Slap Female Reporter

David Moyes Says Sorry For Threatening to Slap Female Reporter

Sunderland manager David Moyes has been forced to apologise after threatening to slap a female reporter after a recent Premier League match.

According to the Daily Star, the BBC’s Vicki Sparks asked Moyes if he was feeling the pressure following the recent 0-0 draw at home to Burnley, and made reference to the fact that owner Ellis Short was present to witness the draw.

Following her line of questioning, Moyes was quoted as saying: “It was getting a wee bit naughty at the end there so just watch yourself.

“You still might get a slap even though you’re a woman. Careful the next time you come in.”

It has since been indicated that Moyes has apologised to Sparks since the incident, and she has accepted his apology.

Moyes’s Sunderland are currently rock bottom of the Premier League with just 20 points from 29 matches, and seem destined for relegation to the Championship this summer.

Surely it was reasonable enough to ask the manager about pressure when his team are marooned at the foot of the table, no?

What do you think of the situation? Was Moyes way out of line?
