Liam Henderson’s Younger Brother Euan Fires Celtic Ahead Against Rangers in Glasgow Cup Final

Celtic and Rangers under-17s take on each other tonight in the annual Glasgow Cup Final.

The tournament, which dates back to 1887, is contested between Celtic, Rangers, Partick Thistle, Queens Park and Clyde.

Senior sides contested the Cup until 1989 and it is now played out between the under-17s, with the Old Firm sides regularly competing against each other in the final.

Celtic are the current champions and started this year’s final in style with Euan Henderson, brother of Scottish Cup winner Liam, opening the scoring for the Hoops.

The youngster was unlucky with his audacious first attempt; a backheel flick, however, he did manage to latch on to the rebound and fire it beyond Billy Kinnear in the Rangers goal.

Chelsea target Billy Gilmour has failed to make much of an impact on a first half which was dominated by Celtic, but he was excellent in the build-up as Matthew Shiels grabbed an unlikely equaliser on the stroke of half time.
