Liverpool Fans Are Raging That Lucas Leiva Has Been Denied a Testimonial

Liverpool have refused to grant a testimonial to midfielder Lucas Leiva and a lot of the club’s supporters are absolutely livid about it.

The Brazilian international moved to Anfield back in July 2007, and as is usually customary after 10 years of service, the club is supposed to grant the player a glamour match in his honour against an opposition of his choice.

However, the Liverpool hierarchy have decided to replace Lucas’s testimonial match with a simple party instead, according to the Liverpool Echo, meaning fans won’t get the opportunity to come out and than Lucas for his time at the club.

When he first arrived in England, Lucas didn’t get off to the greatest of starts, and he looked close to leaving the club in 2015, but there’s no doubting he’s now one of Liverpool’s most popular cult figures – and this decision has angered a lot of people:

What do you think of the decision?
