The legendary Swedish striker landed uncomfortably on his right leg during last night’s Europa League tie with Anderlecht, and was quickly carried off on a stretcher, with Jose Mourinho confirming after the match that he feared the worst.
And the worst has now been confirmed today, with Sky Sports confirming the injury was probably the worst possible outcome.
The 35-year-old will probably be out of action for around six months at least, and given the fact his contract with United expires in June, he might well have played his final match for the Red Devils.
There’s A LOT of United supporters who are in meltdown right now:
No way Zlatan is going out like this- don't see him retiring https://t.co/5YQHehJs8F

So stupid to see some being all relieved and finding positives in Zlatan's injury. Its a big blow and we depended big time on him. Face it

Zlatan injury is NOT a blessing in disguise. We've now lost the element of surprise. Will it be Ibra? Or Rash?? Now, its only Rash.

Front AND rear CL rupture for Zlatan? That could be career ending. He's a medical freak though. #mufc

ffs @ManUtd. How hard it is to read an MRI and come up with a diagnosis for Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Marcos Rojo. Get better doctors.

What do you think of the situation? Has Zlatan really played his final match in England – or of his career?
