Video: Chris Sutton Says Efe Ambrose Could Get in Any Team in the Country

Chris Sutton claims Hibs defender Efe Ambrose could walk into any team in the country after he was named Championship Player of the Month.

Ambrose is on loan at Easter Road after signing an emergency deal back in February, with the Nigeria international struggling for game time at Celtic.

A lack of matches and a huge slump in form saw Hibs supporters take plenty of stick when news broke that Ambrose was heading along the M8 a few months ago.

However, the 28-year-old has been a revelation under Neil Lennon, with the Hibees boss making the same point as Sutton earlier this afternoon – that Ambrose could play for anyone in Scotland.

Sutton went one step further than his old teammate though and told ex-Motherwell skipper Stephen Craigan that Ambrose could walk into Fir Park and take the captaincy from Keith Lasley if he wanted to:

Is Sutton right about Ambrose, is he showing the sort of form that Celtic fans were calling out for during his time at Parkhead?

Or is the Englishman overreacting after the defender hit a purple patch in Scotland’s second tier?
