Aberdeen Fans Back Move to Bring Shaun Maloney to Pittodrie

Aberdeen fans would back the club’s move to bring Shaun Maloney to Pittodrie.

The Scottish midfielder is out of contract at Hull at the end of this season and has so far made no decision on what his future will be.

At 34, he’s approaching the end of his career, but doesn’t appear to be at retirement just yet and reports are linking him with a move to Aberdeen.

But are fans keen on the signing? Judging by some who have reacted to it on Twitter, it would be popular with the Dons support.

Here’s just some of the positive reaction:

Maloney has only played 13 times for Hull this season, scoring one goal in those games, so it’s no surprise he’s not getting an extension to his deal at the club.

But he could do a job up in the Premiership given he was a regular Scotland international up until recently and was a star with Celtic earlier in his career.

Derek McInnes will lose Niall McGinn in the summer and will have to fight off interest in his other stars so Maloney could be a very capable short-term replacement for any other attackers he loses.

Aberdeen fans – would you take Maloney at Pittodrie?
