Ajax Boss Peter Bosz Highlights Manchester United’s Long Ball Tactics in ‘Boring’ Game

Ajax manager Peter Bosz highlighted Manchester United‘s long ball tactics before going on to describe the Europa League Final as a boring game.

The Dutchman took his side into the game at the Friends Arena in Stockholm hoping to spring a surprise and win the trophy.

But they were unable to do that, going behind to a Paul Pogba goal in the first half before Henrikh Mkhitaryan made it 2-0 just after half-time.

Jose Mourinho’s teams don’t usually end up losing once they’ve got a lead and they did everything they had to in order to protect their advantage.

Yet Bosz wasn’t too keen on praising United’s approach to winning when he was questioned post-match:

Mourinho didn’t seem interested in how the trophy was won when he spoke to the media after the game.

He compared Ajax’s approach to poets and said poets don’t usually win trophies:

The victory now means United will play Champions League football next season – a welcome boost after they missed out on a top four spot in the English Premier League.

What’s your view – did United turn it into a boring game?
