The World Cup winner started this season in pretty good form, and was quite rightly regarded as one of the Gunners’ key players up until around Christmas time.
But a severe drop-off in form, coupled with his ongoing contract wrangle with the North London club, has seen some supporters turn against Ozil, and it seems his languid display in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to bitter rivals Spurs was the last straw for some.
Certain Gooners on social media really do seem quite keen to embarrass Ozil by sending out a group looking for him:
Organising a search party for Ozil, maybe we can find our tactics whilst we're looking.

No. Ozil went missing from Xmas 15 onwards. More than 16 months ago. Should have been ditched. Awful player. End of story https://t.co/bSGZL6X1to

Literally praying that Ozil stays at Arsenal. Can't believe some Arsenal actually still rate the bloke after going missing so often

Ozil’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2018 – and with reactions like this pretty much every time he plays a crucial match, would anybody really be bothered if ended up leaving on a free transfer?
What do you think?
