Are They Forgetting Something? Atletico Fans Ripped Up Their Seats After Last Night’s Game

Atletico Madrid’s Champions League adventure came to an end last night, as they were knocked out by Real Madrid during their final European tie at the Vicente Caulderon.

With Diego Simeone’s team set to move into the Wanda Metropolitano at the start of next season, Atletico’s match against Real brought the Caulderon’s tenure as a Champions League venue to an emotional close.

And the Atleti supporters were clearly keen to take a memento home with them, as pictures published by Spanish newspaper AS show fans ripping up their seats after the final whistle:

Awkwardly, it appears the Atleti fans forgot that they still have one more game to play at the stadium – against Athletic Bilbao – before it is officially demolished by the Spanish authorities.

The Caulderon is also set to hose the Copa del Rey final between Barcelona and Alaves on May 27… if the fans can find anywhere to sit that is.
